Learn to Dive Course - Junior Open Water

With over 45 years of experience, we teach kids to dive safely while building confidence, resilience, and life skills.
Our Junior Open Water course (ages 12–14) introduces the underwater world—coral reefs, turtles, and tropical fish—while teaching calm, meditative breathing.

It’s fun, inspiring, and a great way to make friends, bond with family, and join a welcoming dive community. Certified Junior Divers can dive worldwide with a parent or guardian, and their license upgrades automatically at 15.

Our instructors are full-time staff, Blue Card holders, and parents themselves. We maintain a reduced 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio for junior courses.

Our junior open water course runs over four consecutive days to assist with learning – please check the course dates before booking. The date that you select on this booking form is the commencement date.

Home Study | Complete 5 – 6 hours of online training prior to the course (this is included in the course)

Day 1 | 7:30am – 4:30pm: Meet at Scuba World, classroom session, and pool session (Kawana pool is our first option)

Day 2 | 7:30am – 4:30pm: Pool session (Kawana pool is our first option)

Day 3 | 7:30am – 2pm: Two boat dives (max depth 12 metres) followed by classroom session

Day 4 | 7:30am – 2:30pm: Two boat dives (max depth 18 metres), followed by classroom session and graduation
